The Art Of Celebration...Pittenweem Arts Festival + Our Cafe's Birthday!!!

This weekend, as the Pittenweem Arts Festival bursts into life, Funky Scottish will be feeling especially jubilant…

We're celebrating our cafe's 1st birthday!  In a flurry of activity, we launched this exciting element to Funky Scottish on the first day of the festival in 2015. One year on, we’re delighted to confirm that our experiment in blending arts and cafe culture has been a fabulous, adventurous success!

THANK YOU so much to all regulars and visitors for your ongoing support. We also want to say a special thank you to Isobel Bonnes - our talented baker. Isobel's utterly scrumptious, hand-made cakes have won endless praise and continue to delight our customers.

Now, as a cafe-gallery-boutique, Funky Scottish is really excited to be part of another Pittenweem Arts Festival. Here are a few highlights:-

CAFE

Naturally, our cafe will be serving up classic savoury treats including soup, filled rolls and toasties, alongside our selection of Isobel’s tempting cakes. We also serve world famous Illy coffee, a selection of teas and chilled refreshments. Cast your eyes over the art from our bistro style tables inside, or enjoy our alfresco tables on the village square.  Want to know what makes us special? Discover the secret ingredients to our cafe's success.

GALLERY

Our gallery will be exhibiting collections by some of the finest artists at the Pittenweem Arts Festival.  Come and see exhibitions of work by:-

Karen Edward (our resident artist + owner)

(Note: Liz Gourlay and Laura Gourlay - regularly featured at Funky Scottish -  will be based at their joint garage venue on Browns Close as part of the Pittenweem Arts Festival Fringe.)

BOUTIQUE

Our boutique will showcase an eclectic, hand-picked collection of gifts, jewellery and homewares (including kitchenware and ceramics by our resident artist, Karen Edward)

BEYOND THE FESTIVAL…

Looking ahead, we'll have plenty more art experiences in Pittenweem for you to enjoy.

+ artist John Kelly will return to Funky Scottish to teach his art classes from 29th August
+ our popular Artists Lunch will start again on the 1st Wednesday in September
+ and remember - Funky Scottish is open all year round!

Meanwhile, we look forward to you joining us at Pittenweem Arts Festival - a celebration of visuals arts from Saturday 5th to 14th August.

Don’t forget to celebrate our cafe's birthday with a piece of Isobel’s cake too...

Funky Scottish is open 9-5 throughout the festival - find us on the high street!
